about
"Hush" is the latest single from Fatigue, the darkwave/dark synth-pop project from New England producer/performer Lilz Martin. (Also known by her DJ moniker of Sawtooth) Like much of her previous Fatigue material, the lyrical content is heavily inspired by her own trials and tribulations with mental health, with "Hush" being no exception. The song follows an internal struggle many have had with one's internal monologue, and the tendency to second guess one's self before one is even able to move forward. It's a track full of executive dysfunction, anxiousness, and disquietude against a sparse, shuffling, minimalist club beat that's a marked departure from Fatigue's usual fare of lushly orchestrated textures and thick walls of synths.
lyrics
Born out of struggle
Yet so contemptible
Portioning out
Your deepest fears
Hesitation is doubled
So irrepressible
It'll only get worse
From here
And it comes in waves
Much harsher than before
And it comes in waves
Til you're the thing
That you abhor
Let yourself down
Let yourself down
You're gonna
Let yourself down
Let yourself down
You're gonna
Let yourself down
Let yourself down
You're gonna
Let yourself down
Again
Born to be broken
Disdain interminable
Such a piteous hovel
So unforgiveable
But maybe when you're older
Maybe when you're useless
Maybe when you're that much
Easier to ignore
We'll finally even
The score
And it comes in waves
More painful than before
And it comes in waves
What masochist
Could adore
You
Let yourself down
Let yourself down
You're gonna
Let yourself down
Let yourself down
You're gonna
Let yourself down
Let yourself down
You're gonna
Let yourself down
Again
Again
And it comes in waves
You can mark this on your grave
It comes in waves
So little left was worth to save
Let yourself down
Let yourself down
You're gonna
Let yourself down
Let yourself down
You're gonna
Let yourself down
Let yourself down
You're gonna
Let yourself down
Again

Been listening to Rotersand since forever. Whichever direction Rotersand goes, I follow, and what a fantastic journey we have been on together. Keep it coming, you guys have done no wrong! riobranden
A stellar cast of artists put their own shadowy spins on recent Bestial Mouths material—toward the goth club floor or into pure noise. Bandcamp New & Notable May 11, 2021
Three new songs and three remixes from Italian darkwavers Ash Code will surely grace goth club speakers once we can go pick cobwebs again. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 9, 2021
Been following these vox on/off since "Buried Again" and SF fit neatly with my current synthwave leanings. Perfectly dry pop songs with a little pathos, huge synths and some adorable DIY drum sounds. Love it. x0riente
